Four Year Anniversary

I have pictures to prove it...we did absolutely nothing but fun stuff for an ENTIRE day (can you believe it Steph?!)! We've both decided that we're ready for retirement already. Too bad I'm living until I'm 102.

To start the morning off, I made Chris breakfast in bed (yummy strawberry recipe at the end of this post), and printed out and framed our vows that I said to him four years ago. He wrote me this SUPER sweet letter (which I'm not allowed to post...but trust me, that man loves everything about me...including my "frowey hair"!), and got me roses. The 4th year anniversary gift is supposed to be flowers and fruit, so we stuck to that!

So what else did we do you ask?! We went paddle boarding!! (Err...surf boarding? With a paddle...that makes it paddle boarding, right?!)

We have the worlds greatest neighbors and they offered (we didn't even ASK!) to let us borrow their paddle board. We headed out to the Dunedin Causeway. We initially planned on renting a kayak and one of us kayaking and one of us paddle boarding, but then we both got on the paddle board and decided it was too much fun to go solo.

We headed out to Caledesi Island (the island pictured straight out in front of Chris) and rode around on the waves with the board, did a lot of walking and talking, and just had a great day together.

After we came in, we were super hungry from being out in the bay all day, so we headed over to one of our new favorite places, Ozona Blue. We sat out on the deck and ate and had some drinks while listening to a guy play on his guitar. So perfect...even WITH my frowey hair!!

And to cap off the night, I made Chris some more yummy cream filled strawberries. They were seriously so delicious!!

For those of you that are interested in the recipe, just take strawberries and cut off the tops so they lay flat. Then cut the strawberries in two but not all the way down, so that you have somewhere for the cream to go, like this:

For the cream, mix together 8 ounces of cream cheese (I used the low fat kind, still sooo good), 1 tablespoon vanilla, and 1/4th a cup of powdered sugar. I let the cream cheese sit out for a bit to soften. Beat those 3 ingredients together and then put that in either a pastry bag (yeah right, like I have one of THOSE) or in a zip lock bag and cut a small hole in the corner to squeeze out your 'frosting'. And Viola! Beautiful, delicious strawberries and cream. If you try out the recipe, let me know how you like it!

I am so lucky and blessed to be married to such a great and amazing guy. He's so perfect for me, and I love our life that we've created together!

Next post won't be so sappy, I promise!! Happy Tuesday! I'm linking up to these fun parties...go check them out!

I'm also linking up here for the 4th of July!

Weekend Recap

As usual, there was very little down time and a lot of craziness going on for the Hart's this weekend. And also as usual, I don't have a whole lot of time to blog this a.m....soo...here's a quick recap!

We ran 5 miles with the TEAM at 630 a.m. on Saturday, did a TON of yard work, went to the rental property and did some work there, worked on the pool, Chris worked a lot and did a bunch of school work, and I FINALLY finished up one of my small projects that I've been working on off and on for the past few weeks. I also managed to make a little bit of progress on my other "small" project that is turning out to be anything but, and will blog about both of those later on this week.

We did mix in sprinkles of fun with all of the work. Saturday at about 5, our neighbor drove by and invited us over for dinner at 7. Saweet!! It was soo good! On Sunday afternoon, we went to our friends Lauren and Greg's for a super fun Memorial Day BBQ.

And for training on Monday, we ran 3 miles after dinner. Not smart. We waited about an hour and a half before running, but that still wasn't enough time for our food to digest! Saturday's 5 miler was easier than yesterday's 3 miler. I don't know that we'll make that mistake again!

Hope everyone enjoyed their Memorial Day Weekend!!

High's, Low's, and Everything In Between

I don't have pictures to share just yet of this weekends projects around the house, so I'll just write some highlights, low lights, and teasers.

High lights:
--Ashleigh and Adam don't care that I'm awful at singing, and we can rock out to the Wii all night long.
--I did not cook one meal this weekend, thanks to Chick-Fil-A Friday night, my wonderful hubby for breakfast and lunch on Saturday, our wonderful neighbors for dinner Saturday night, and the power going out on Sunday for quite awhile and again my wonderful husband for dinner Sunday night.
--We took time to relax and have *quite a few cups of coffee over brunch on Sunday. I love when we do this...I love just chit chatting with Chris!
--We cleaned out the 'junk' room and put stuff up in the attic so Chris's family has bedrooms to sleep in when they come in a few weeks.
--I'm almost finished working on a project that I'm really proud of...will post pics and details later!!
--I painted the baseboards in one of the kid rooms...doors / door trimmings / closet painting is all that's left!

Low Lights:
--I went to Jo-Ann's for fabric and felt like the biggest poser in the entire world.
--I went to Home Depot for sand paper and got told I looked like I worked there.
Yes, I know I fit in better at Home Depot than Jo-Ann's. No need to point out the obvious!
--The power and cable went out for a loooong time on Sunday morning. At 1030 I got back in bed and told Chris that I just couldn't make it through the day without coffee, so until then, I was going back to bed. (Plus side of this--yay brunch!)

Realizations:
--I love color on walls. I hate painting. That means all of my walls are going to be plain beige in this house so that I can just change out accents.
--Our generations version of a guitar and a campfire have changed to the Wii. I hope my kids get to experience a guitar and a campfire one day!!
--Chris is even MORE indecisive than I am. Amazingly so. Keep an eye out for Wednesday's / Thursday's post to hear more on why!

So, that's our weekend in a nutshell!! Happy Monday everyone!
